Here we go. Like the Sears, it is Murray built.

Yesterday, I did some research, and it seems to be a mix of mechanical and hydraulic. There is a normal brake cable that works with a normal drop bar lever. The cable pulls up a lever on the brake like a normal, mechanical disk brake, but the mechanical lever operates a hydraulic piston in the brake. There is a see through reservoir on the brake that is filled with green hydraulic fluid.


Pretty much, a mechanical cable activates a hydraulic piston, so it uses a normal lever and cable setup, but the normal lever and cable operates a hydraulic piston in the caliper.
