Since the Talisman frame cracked, I am in need of new commuter. I rode the last bike 250+ days/year for the last nine years as my commuter and around town bike. I found this bike down at the local bike coop at an "as is" price. I should be able to sell a few of the parts to cover the cost. It is a KHS Special Tour from about 1983-85. It was a mid-range bike with okay components and nice chromoly frame, Tange Champion 3. It has 27" wheels, but I plan on using my VO wheelset. The Paul brakes will need to be modified to have a enough reach.

It should work out fine. The forks need a slight straighten, but could be left as they are too. Post up a pic when it's done.

The fork is not bent...must be the picture. I filed the brake slot lower plus some other tricks and it didn't work. I will start looking for some Shimano XT cantilevers as they have been known to work.
