Here is my 40's CWC I have no idea exact year or which brand name it was originally, I have tried researching it and keep getting different answers. I love the look of these frames though.

Does your left seat stay come further out than the right? Or is it the angle of the pic?

I have my 40s rat that is a 47 CWC frame with 41 Huffman everthing else and I believe its a whizzer frame because the left stay goes further out. I was told by a couple people that its a true whizzer frame is why it is further out.

Here's my CWC

Actually mine does not. I have a arched bottom tank tube as well. This is a better frame shot before the build.

This one is Kate's. It spent 25 years hiding in the barn until I had a good excuse to give it to someone who deserves it. She did a really nice job putting it back together imho

It wasn't me I swear.

Got my nos 3 gill tank yesterday, this thing is Awsome! Gonna install later today If I get some time!

Thanks for the like Kingfish, I'm putting it on my Roadmaster that I have posted on here. It's in Much nicer shape paint wise than my bike obviously, I would liked to have found one with a lot more patina than this one. Ha! Ha! But hey, I'm not complaining, it truly belongs on a prestine original bike. I don't care, I'm putting on mine! I'll post a picture with installed on my Roadmaster hopefully today. I'm lucky to even find one, let alone in this condition. I'm a little excited can't you tell?:dance2::banana::rockout:

Little Neutrino, from BONINE, a 36' Hawthorne. The brazing on this bike is beautiful, after I stripped it I had to let it show. This bike has a thin coat of miniwax walnut rubbed in. I had it out for a spin today!

Carl.

I thought I'd post this here. People will research their bikes looking for date clues, and the best I got was either mid-1941-to-end of production for war, or perhaps mid-late 1946 (Nov 46 supposedly saw new dies for bending the downtube).

Supposedly until sometime in 1941 the downtubes were straight. Then they got a fairly shallow bend.
Then in 1946, they increased the bend to the exaggerated form we usually see. This bike was originally a Monkey wards, and not enough left to restore...so I klunked it.

Now we have aluminum bars, an aluminum gooseneck from an unknown BMX bike, I removed the 5/8 core from the seat tube and it accepts a BMX layback, and it now sports a black Brooks saddle. Wheel rims are Ukai from a Schwinn Sierra laced onto Sturmey-Archer 90mm brake hubs. The back one is the new-style 5-speed.

Oh, and it got fresh paint. And yes, I ride it on singletrack.
