So, between the WBO and BOTEN I have been working on a project to turn an old muscle bike into a MX bike. Actually it will mimic a old flat track racer. Starting with a 1969 Sears Spyder and changing out a few parts on it and giving it a tune up. Here is what I am starting with and the pair of Rhino triple tree forks that will be modified to work with the tire and wheel I'm using.

Should be interesting! Only one week till BOTEN to get it finished!

Luke.
I'll be tweaking on this one during BOTEN. No rush on this... just a fun build. I like the paint on it so it'll be super easy.

This is what I've done to it so far. I picked up a Messinger MX seat and a under seat sissy bar, a pair of alloy mountain bike handle bars and old school BMX grips. My next door neighbor works at a metal fab shop and I had him cut the forks and lengthen them 4 inches. He did this by adding stainless steel sleeves. He also lengthened the fork tube to fit the frame. I made the bracket for the seat. I still have to swap out the crank, chain ring and rear cog. I'm going with a 39-16. I also am making number plates for the front and sides out of a stock sheet of plastic. The front rim came off of the '75 Stingray Fastback I bought for MBBO 2014. The tire is a NOS Western Auto Supply Co. 20X1-1/4-1-3/8 along with a Pork Chop BMX new axle.

I'm usually a purist who hates to see nice original Muscle Bikes as anything but stock - but I actually LIKE this, has the look down, for sure...
Will be watching.
