I rode the Beast and the Sun Spider and both had me exhausted riding on the street for about 15 minutes.

I guess I just like riding too fast. Not to mention that I'm surrounded by concrete here.
the beast with 22 tooth on concrete gets me spinning trying to keep up with the vintage ballooner bikes on the Slow Spoke rides. 20 tooth still feels hard to pedal. Hard to strike a easy balance with a bike this heavy.

The Beast rode a lot better with those Sunlite Crusher tires on mine...much lighter tires and they rolled a lot smoother.

The Beast with the Sunlite tires was actually easier to ride than the Sun Spider with the 2 speed hub.

With the 22t and the tire pressure almost max, I really had no problems riding the Beast any distance. I'm in no hurry to get anywhere though.

The movie is where the title and a couple audio snippets in my video comes from. And just to make it clear, I am in no way endorsing the movie.

Anyone from Philly feel free to back me up on this. I ride my Beast (now known as "The Grave Digger) from Harbison and the Roosevelt BLVD to the Phila Art Museum, about 11 miles one way. I do two laps on "The Loop" then head back home. For those that don't know one lap on "The Loop" is 7 miles. ;)

The last Slow Spokes ride was about 10 miles.
No problem on my Beast and there was one other Beast on the ride.
Not alot different than riding a vintage ballooner single speed coaster.

Put a 20t on mine out of the box and the pressure is kept pretty low, haven't done anything more than escort my boy on his bike to the park or playing around in parking lots though myself. Lots of "watch me ride over this" going on though lol

Well, my 2nd Beast just sold too. Took all of one day and about 4 hours this time. Bought it for 200, sold it for 200. I was going to keep it, but I went hog crazy and pre-ordered a Motobecane Fat from Bikes Direct. Come on May 15th - hurry up and ship!

The last Beast came thru a friend who installed a front brake on it. You may be interested. Great upgrade!

Mine wasn't difficult to sell. I bought it for $125 off CL several months back. Got the new one and decided to sell the older. Instead of CL I put it up for sale on my wife's facebook. She has a million friends and I didn't want to deal with CL buyers. It sold in about an hour for $150.

Just sold my Cranbook off her facebook page this past weekend.

It's named after a pimp with an all girl army of kung fu killers

Naming that bike after a legendary pimp like Dolomite would be like if they renamed the Bratz bike after Shaquille O'Neal.

Man, I am getting antsey now. My Orange FB4 Comp is supposed to ship by the first half of May. They offered the Boris line after I ordered my Comp., or I might have chosen the Boris X7 instead. I think I could still change my order, but I'd have to wait until August. Not gonna happen!

:( :( Now Bikes Direct is saying my fattie won't ship 'till May 30th. Supposedly due to a shortage of wheel parts. I guess this supports the "Fat Bikes Catching On" thread. I just hope the containers don't fall off the boat! Ha!
