It looks like a modified form of silver nitrate mirroring, which works, but is fragile and easily scratched. I'd be curious to learn just how durable this new stuff really is.

Thanks for the tip . I will be following this idea. First thought was : there's a whole lot of money remaining in that big ole used paint brush. This looks like it might be a way to finish 3D printer reproduction parts.
