I'm an old retired guy that is new to your site and I love it.
When I was a kid, I would get old bikes (all we could afford) and take off fenders and flip handlebar upside down, then put a partially inflated baloon on the rear frame so it would rub the back spokes and it made a motorcycle sound. That was 50's cool (in my mind).
After retirement from an art and fabrication job, I wanted a bicycle to ride just for exercise. We had
a couple old rusty 50's bikes .... so I decided, just for fun, I would take some of the best pieces of each and make a rat bike. I have always messed with old cars and liked what some of the builders were doing with rat rods. I had no idea that rat rod bicycles were popular until, while surfing for a few parts, I discovered this great site. It really inspired me.
I will try to post some pictures of the bike that evolved at a later date.
