old grips

I am rebuilding a '49 columbia and the factory grips are on it, however one of them is cracked almost in half. Who has any idea's on glueing it back together???????????? :? :?

I think your out of luck on that one. Super glue or even silicone wont do the job.

I think your SOL. Even if your glued it then they'd be stuck to your handlebars and you'd probably mess them up. Post up a picture of the grips as maybe they might be easy to find.

I did that once, I used epoxy and glued the grip to the handlebar and wrapped it with tape very tightly until it was dry. You have to look closely to see the seam. It will come off, but you'll have to cut it off to do it. It's a one time fix, but if it's cracked, it's not worth much anyway.
