After a little bit of googling I believe it's a 63 Raleigh sport deluxe.

What kind of rear hub does it have?
While it certainly has some similar styling to Raleigh, it just doesn't seem to be Raleigh made in my opinion.

Actually it is wearing herculese fenders with Humber fender tip and fork, headtube lug cutout and chain gaurd. defiantly a Raleigh umbrella built bike.
Mine has a SA 3 speed his is either older or they were changed w the seat.

In 1960, Raleigh bought up most of the English lightweight companies and then made them. They were just below Raleigh quality (they kept their own a little higher in price too) but excellent by today's standards. Hercules was one of those brands, as was Robin Hood, Sunbeam, BSA, and others. Your bike is one of those made after 1960, made in Nottingham England. I took a faded robin Hood bike and was amazed how well the black paint shined up, with just a mild cleaning and a couple layers of car paste wax.
The exact year the rear hub was made is stamped ion the shiny chrome shell, a good way to check the year of the bike, it should be about the same year. Look near the Sturmey Archer name, there will be little digits that give the month and year, like this. This is a Feb 1983 hub, yours is probably a 60's bike.

i have an 84 hub, but im sure its mid 60s. i was considering using it as a donor, but now i think just resurrecting it for riding would be the best way to go. thanks for taking a look guys

being a ladies bike with that low bar and all, anybody ever do anything interesting with the extra space created? im trying to figure out if this might become my new faveorite beer runner.

I saw a bike that had a fold out wooden box that was a bar! It opened up, had glasses and a bottle or two of "refreshment" and was used a table. It was a diamond frame, but the same concept would work on that bike.

This gives me an idea, actually. Insulated beer cooler, custom built of course, I could easily fit a six pack of longnecks and a bag of ice in something that size. Basket on the front and a rack on the back, go-to picnic/lake bike.

Maybe a seltzer bottle?

Also, just found out Sportcrest was a brand name Sears used.
