Thanks, but geez, the CWC info online isn't nearly as simple as a Schwinn or Murray to figure out. I agree with you on the font and configuration. All the pics I have found online of CWC bikes look like that. But I can't figure out what it all means.

could be a 53, is there a cw after the 53? Late 40's they added a CW after the serial#. Early 50's (i think) they added the year to the CW

Cwc's had the year stamped from 1952 - 56. They switched to amf serials after that, known only by the m.i.a. rms 37, and the 'quirky' NBHAA. -Adam
 
Looks like it had a Western Flyer head badge. It's a CWC made bike, and being skiptooth, it's a 53 going by your serial number.
