Shimano 333 Question

So, I laced a NOS 333 hub into my Sears Spyder. Everything is cool, shifts well, looks great. However, the hub will pull the stick shifter into high gear every time the bike stops. When the bike is at rest, you can pull the shifter back to low gear but the hub pulls a lot stronger than the shifter can hold, it just goes back into high. ... :?

I know Shimano usa has a tech page that has some troubleshooting tips. Or Harris Cycle/Sheldon Brown may have a few tips. I don't know, but sounds like maybe something in there's bent. -Adam

Is it a 3 spd coaster brake hub?..

I had a thumb shifter to a 333 which didn't lock into gear well.. I think it was mostly the shifter. Maybe pull it apart and look into the locking mechanism. Mine was just a plastic barrel-shaped thing which had eventually worn an angle into itself, preventing it from locking.
