Ok I measured it. The old tire is 3/8" wider, and 3/4" taller overall. They are both kenda 26x2.125. Maybe not much but not really what I was looking for.

drool...tell us about the paint work

I had a local builder/painter do it.

The previous owner had sandblasted the frame - which ruined the faux-fillet brazing on these bikes. That fillet look is actually lead that's been melted on, then sanded.

Lead does not like being sand blasted.

So we had to remove all of it. Refill the welds with modern filler.

Sanded the frame. Filled its rust pock-marks.

spaced the rear end out to 135 mil.

fixed a weld on the chain stay bridge.

Epoxy primer.

Matched the paint color to the original.

Ordered a couple NOS schwinn decals.

It was a long process.

that went pretty cheap. 20' rattle can paint job not withstanding.
Yeah, the paint was terrible. They even bombed the clamp and BB cups... truly, the mark of a professional job. Truth be told, the horrible paint is what had me "watching" the auction; I don't care about paint, and i knew the price wouldn't get too crazy with the finish looking like that...
