Never fear! A good industrial hardware store can come to the rescue!

I have a mid-to current school BMX fork that is for a full Gyro/Potts mod set up. Integrated (welded in) bung for the pre loading bolt. Silly me thought this was a standard piece that any bike shoppe would carry. Wrong! Every modern fork nowadays has a huge bolt that is proprietary to the brand.

Went to the local hardware store. The guy helping me was dubious that he could. I told him that I had faith as a guy I used to sponsor his race car regularly used this store for hard-to-find bolts. He takes a stab, it was just a teeny bit big. Goes to the next drawer, BINGO!

I also lacked a top cap that was going to work. Get out a 3/8” drill bit and drill it out. Almost looks factory!
