Starting with a 1976 Schwinn Speedster Frame. Widening the rear and changing the fork for a balooner wheelset.

Trying to figure out how to add pictures. You make it tough for the old guys.

Welcome to the #8RRBO build...Good luck
Here is Ratrod forum for posting pics...Made easy

slow going on turning that galvanized downspout into a tank--brazing is a new skill . . .pictures to follow this weekend
I'm not going to make it to the swap meet in Eden this weekend due to a familial obligation, so I've got to do some serious scrounging or just buck up and order a fork and set of wheels in the next couple of weeks

Be careful brazing galvanized metal..It gives off some very toxic fumes.

You could rivet the tank together to avoid the toxic fumes. That would also give you the option of a little contrasting color (copper, aluminum or brass rivets).

Steep learning curve and the prototype tank cannot be sealed.
I should have just built the second one first.

Not much progress last week other than adding a few new wrinkles to the grey matter.
Tank may be undergoing re-design pending outcome of next shop session.
There is LOTS of stiff competition too . . .nice work ratters.
I'm glad we have until Aug 1.
Pictures to follow.

The death of an old friend a couple of weeks ago knocked the wind out of the sails and planning his funeral and settling his affairs took a lot of time, but I've been back into the shop a couple of times and made a little progress on the speedster. Time to find a set of wheels and work up a suitable fork.

Posting of images still not intuitive.
