Hiho guys and gals,....

today i'll enter the competition.... allthough i know i have no chance to win... :)
... i started of with a concept i had done a few weeks ago...

IDEA: (around march)

START: (end of april)
...so i went on the search for a frame which would give me the steel and enough bends of the angles i need :)...
and so i went with a Velor Chopper (a german trademark for cheapest chinese Switchblade copys)
...had some wheels build for a different project which went terribly wrong (the wheels don't fit in the back...and you don't bend brand new 29" MTB-Frames :) ) ... so the wheels where waiting in the basement

...then i made the design for a double springer fork...but ended up using an old double crown fork from china

PRODUCTION PROCESS: 05/05/2013
sooo all the parts went together... :)

....
put in some cranks and some chain...and off i went to the office for a testride... Cranks to long (but i could drive 2mm under the pedal can be enough) and no brakes :)

...yesterday i welded a fork using the old double crown fork...

...and ran down to my basement to put "something" together...the wheels allthough i LOVE them where changed for some 26" by 3" rims with 3" tires including a BRAKE and some gears (Shimano Nexus 7)

Look'n sweet! Make sure you have your inside pedal up when cornering  been there don that... not too fun

...the planned double springer fork...

...had a roll out a few moments ago... the bike seems to be much lower on the 26"x3" rims then on the 26x2" Rims i used before...and i used 127,5mm cranks now... and used 150mm cranks before... o should have plenty of space under my pedals.... NOPE... WHY???.... because i had not enough air pressure in the tires ... :)

... the frame has to move up a little bit more... seems like i have to weld a little bit more on the fork
...changed the handlebars for something which can take shifter and brake... it will be romoved later and replaced by something cooler... :p

Re: Evil V - RRBBO8 - a build from germany...

Good to see another international entrant.
Love your design skills and both fork designs!
Good luck!

Re: Evil V - RRBBO8 - a build from germany...

...a few minutes ago... a different frame arrived... an old Boardtracker Frame made by the long gone PimpGarage...
maybe today i will try a mock up with this frame... i'm not sure at the moment if not this will be more the right frame for an "evil" project... :)

Re: Evil V - RRBBO8 - a build from germany...

...tested the frame with asimple mock up of parts from the basement... and its not the direction i want to go... its way too "classic" ... and the frame is a little bit to small for me :) (iam a 192cm tall guy... or 6,3ft)....

... this bike is not gonna end up as my final decission for my RRBBO8 Bike... not even as a spare frame, its to seldom to cut and weld it...

...So iam getting back to the original frame... tomorrow i will relace the rear wheel with a SRAM Spectro 7 instead of the broken Shimano Nexus 7 (stripped the axle :x ) and broke some internals... maybe iam to strong for japanese IGHs? (allthough my alfine in my pugsley keeps up with everything else!)...

seee you tomorrow guys and gals.... yours Tibor

Cool looking setup there... What tires and rims do you have on it (give size too)?
