So, as if I needed another build, I definitely want to do @us56456712 ‘s 31 day challenge.

Preferably starting August 1st!!!!

As it would be easy to do a quickie tune up on my vintage Peugeot road bike or Raleigh technium, that would be too easy!!!

How about a mix of these!??? Of course, the teal huffy will be the donor bike!

So, cobbled the huffy together to nab a quick 5 bonus points

The rear brake cable was seized and the tires were dry rotted so bad, every time I rolled the bike around, rubber would fall off.

We’re all set now.... at least for rides 20 miles or less.

Anyone know what year?

I’ve done a few measurements; I think this swap is going to go great. I’m super pumped to put this 3 speed on the Murray/ western flyer.

It looks like Someone tried to sell the Huffy in a garage sale for $35.

I guess that didn’t really work out because my friend pulled this out of the trash for me!

I was a bit confused; I cannot under any circumstance get this adhesive off!!!

Any secrets out there? Goo-gone: nope, WD-40, nope. -I even tried letting the goo-gone sit overnight. Still nothing.

Tear down has begun!

Please vote on my poll regarding the fender selection! (Or lack there of)

This thing, for as scary as the rust looks, came apart relatively easy. Only about a half hour for tear down. Some close calls, but no stripped or broken screws or bolts.

Before calling it a night, I smothered it with calcium and rust remover.

And then there was this guy:

Presto: ready for new parts!!!

I was shocked at the sheer weight of this frame only... holy mackerel. Felt like it weighed about 50 pounds!!!

Well, I remember them as Kellogg's freebies, you could get the rooster and the tiger n stuff, but I don't think I remember that robot.

As for the color, they came in blue, yellow, red, and orange.

Ok, this was unexpected:This Bike was COVERED in rust. I thought I’d hit it with some CLR just to take off some of the rough and sharp edges.

I was out of CLR, and all the store had was this stuff.

So, I bought it, put it on my bike and let it soak for a day, came back with another coat and a toothbrush later, let it soak over night..... now the bike is BLUE!!!!

WOW!!!! That stuff was wicked! I’m going to start transferring parts later this week...,
