I would put a piece of flat plate across the top following the chain stays and then hide an angle iron under it the full length that you were showing of putting it in between the stays. This should give you the needed strength and not ruin the looks.
I got some work done on it, most of the work was cutting apart an old build that never worked out. So far it seems to be fitting together well.
The crank will go on the frame about where it sit on the ground.

I do hope you just didn’t order an AC transformer as that will not work with straight DC power coming from the battery’s. You will need a DC to DC step down power supply.
