Totally Snyder with the "Volcano" joins on the BB and indented chain stays. Surprised no serial number, quite odd. Ground away at one point????? Early rollfast badges are asymetrical in mounting holes, 1 5/8" apart center to center and the left hole about 1/8" below the right.
A little bit at a time. The chain tensioner bolts were missing from the frame and the threads were pretty rough. I could not easily figure out what pitch thread they were as none of the random bolts I tried would fit. Using some undersized taps as a guide I found it to be 24 TPI.
I picked...
Got a little work in. The frame was decently straight for being 104 years old. The left seat stay was straight while the right side was gently curved to the outside. There was a slight dent of the outside. I used the Sheldon Brown frame straightening technique and fixed the seat stay and got...
Would love to, I have been following your builds for a long time. I do occasional work for the Telfair Museum so a random trip is always a possibility.
Yes its a great time, cars and guitars is their moto. Its a camping/drag racing/swap meet/rockabilly kind of deal with a pin-up contest and...
Well here goes nothing. First RRBO for me. I was planning on building this over the winter so when I saw the Skinny Wheel option I figured why not do it on here.
Back story: I picked this frame up this past summer off a Marketplace ad. It was a multi-bike ad trying to sell an entire...
I'm in for my first BO, Skinny Tire. 1918 Rollfast I picked up this summer. Been gathering original parts and two parts bikes for a 700c shimano 3 speed coaster brake wheel set. Needs major steer tube repair work but I have a plan.
Its a bit late, but tip when masking is to spray an intercoat of clear. It seals the making tape and anything that bleeds under is unseen as guess what; its clear!
Badge holes are horizontal, 1 5/8 on centers with the right hole about 1/8" above the left as viewed from the front. I do not have a badge nor a ghost as the white paint from the head is all lost. My down tube has an adhesive ghost of the original decal. Its hard to read in regular lighting...
Yes that certainly could be an E connecting all the bits assuming the middle horizontal line of the E has a up and down flourish and the top and bottom lines also have down and up flourishes, that should make it 1918 which is one of the catalog images I have that matches the paint scheme (1920...
80543. I am pretty sure there is a mark to the left of the 8 but it is not a number but possibly a pictogram or something else?????
Help getting an accurate date appreciated.
Did you try putting the bars on the cart and not the bike? That way you steer the cart and the bike follows, at least that is how it is working in my head right now.
1981 xs650, custom tank, lowered, hard-tail conversion with springer saddle. Haven't used in 3 years, traffic is nutty here. Not worth selling so I will keep until we retire and move someplace with less populace.
