    Newbie, looking for bike ID

I believe the date may be printed on the black sticker just above the BB (bottom of the post between the seat and pedals). Last thing on the sticker, lower right. The ones I've seen have seemed about right for a month-year. Would be just out of sight in your second pic. I don't know if thats an...

    Seriously seized BB and Pedal

Finally finishing off this thread, I had some time to finally get to this, and had no trouble with the top nut. I can't say I experimented because I did all of it, heated it-water(2x)-heated it-PB Blaster-heated it-started cranking on it. Some screeching (the nut-not me) and it was loose. My...

    Seriously seized BB and Pedal

Right on, I'm thinking of setting the forks over a horizontal beam, so its braced from the inside with a snug fit at the crown. A while ago I got a 1-3/16 socket for my 1/2" driver, just for headsets. So I've got that going for me... Letting it soak for a couple days while I do some work...

    Seriously seized BB and Pedal

It's off! Feels great when you win a battle! The BB loosened a bit with all the action on the pedal and came off pretty good, inside of BB looking good. Thanks, RKO, I may have been doing similar with PB Plaster right after heating, but the water sounds more dramatic, cheaper and cleaner. Maybe...

    Seriously seized BB and Pedal

Thanks RS, I had to assure myself a couple times that it was left handed because I was afraid I had it wrong, it was so tight. Yes, the pedal is history, but it already was toast long ago anyway. Everything down there is pretty disintegrated. I could see cutting it up as the next option, but it...

    Seriously seized BB and Pedal

This always happens to me, as soon as I'm about to give up, I get some success. I wrecked the pedal to get a bigger wrench on there, broke another wrench and bent up a small pipe wrench, but got a couple threads out. I'll keep blasting and heating, but it looks like it will come out. Testament...

    Seriously seized BB and Pedal

I haven't posted for a few years, but still buy a bike or two every summer. This one is really stuck, I bought it off FB before I could look at it, only $25 and I really liked the plate (tank?). It looks like it was a work bike for Trane Co., headquartered here with a large campus. DP Serial No...

    Disassembling the Roadmaster

Thanks, I'm definitely gonna add some heat to the equation, I'm thinking just hot to the touch, right? Maybe I'll heat and tap it a couple nights in a row, then again when I'm ready to try removal. As my name implies, too much hurry is usually not a problem lol.

    Disassembling the Roadmaster

Haha unobtanium, I literally laughed out loud! It's stuck in there, I'll leave it alone. Is this what you mean by open end? Do you mean once the stems out i could hit the wedge nut from the bottom? I could see flipping it and knocking the stem downward, leaving the wedge nut, thanks. I...

    Disassembling the Roadmaster

Hi all, I thought I'd share some pics (and a boatload of questions) about taking apart this Roadmaster. I can't offer a lot of advice on the forum, so I thought maybe you'd find it interesting. Also nice for me to document it too. I've had the bike for two weeks now and got quite a few parts off...

    Buying a few bikes I haven't id'd yet

Might be out of luck with the rim. I didn't even do anything with it yet. I will take your advice as I work to replace it, along with the front, thanks! Btw, the tire on it was a Goodyear airwheel G-3 if that means anything...

    Buying a few bikes I haven't id'd yet

Sorry, skpc, what are ND rims? The murrays on it are all I have right now just to keep it standing. Yeah I'm leery of 'summer help' at the bigger bike shops, I'll have to be picky about who works on the rim and hub.

    Buying a few bikes I haven't id'd yet

Standing tall on some temporary wheels... I'm in love:inlove::inlove: You guys have got me bustin with pride, thanks! No worries, skpc, I'm thinking down the same road, no way would I customize or paint or otherwise ruin it. The bars were designated to the Rollfast once I knew not original...

That 1936 sure looks right. Other than the handlebars, only the rack is different. Would the long bars be original? I'd like to ride it with those, at least at first.
