    Schwinn 'The World' Craigslist Score

The frame is all torn down now ready for a thorough cleaning and tomorrow I'm planning to get the wheels broken down. Everything came apart fairly easily after a good soaking with a mixture of WD-40 and Marvel Mystery Oil. I decided to leave the chain tensioners alone, the last thing I want to...

I guess I did pretty good, I payed $150 for it.

    Schwinn 'The World' Craigslist Score

The rear hub appears to be a Morrow unit. I thought maybe the wheels weren't original but now I'm pretty sure they are. I tried to get the stem out of the head tube but it's stuck. I sprayed it with WD-40 but I'm not super confident it'll work. I'm out of anything stronger at the moment and...

    Schwinn 'The World' Craigslist Score

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking the same thing, that this was earlier than what that site had indicated but obviously I'm not an expert. Tomorrow I'll get a little cleaning done on it and try and get some more identifying info. Stay tuned to this channel for further updates.

    Schwinn 'The World' Craigslist Score

Just bought this about an hour ago. According to the Schwinn serial number tool it's either a '51 or '58. Has the original 'The World' head badge and screen. The serial number is D08696. It's also stamped FRN on the bottom bracket.

That Schwinn blue will look fantastic with a little bit of work. My '64 American went from this: To this: With a little soap & water and some Meguiar's stuff:

    Opinions On This Seat

I guess I should have given a little more info on the style of the build. I'm planning on going fenderless with a Jerald slick and either a pair of early Stingray butterfly bars or a set from a '68 Ray. Honestly, I'm leaning towards the banana seat..........I need a place to mount a supercool™...

    Opinions On This Seat

I'm finally getting ready to put a Spaceliner framed project together that I've had for five years or so. Normally I'd use a banana seat & sissy bar but I happened upon on another seat that I thought looked really cool and wanted some other opinions. Anyone used one of these? How is the quality...

    '64 Schwinn American

Decided the Tijuana reject needed some more shiny stuff. I dug the stock rear fender out and chopped it up. The chrome was nasty (as seen in the first post of this thread) but with a little (actually, a lot) of elbow grease the fender and brace cleaned up nicely. I had three braces from the...
