Careful using concrete blocks. If they sit outside and get wet, a fire can make them pop, split , even explode from the expansion of the boiling water vapor!

I guess it’s no worse than my first 10 speed road bike back in the early 70’s. I had toe straps on my pedals and had them fairly snug. My buddy riding in front of me stopped real fast and I didn’t react fast enough. Went over the bars and took the bike right along with me in one big cart wheel...

Ulu, I usually drill a couple of holes in the outer tube and plug weld the inner tube as well as butt weld the splice. Makes for a very strong joint.
