How do you guys bust rust this bad?

WD-40 would free up a lot of things on your cool old Phantom. Looks like a very challenging project. Good luck. If all else fails, the frame and wheels would make a great piece of art for a shop, bar or restaurant - or a museum.

    24-inch Sears

Me and my new Sears Spyder in the summer of 1965. I think Dad paid $36 for it.

    Studebaker Pedal Car

That's is so cool and unique. Lucky kid! I love the patina and the hood ornament and door handles especially.

    J . C . HIGGINS COLOR FLOW

Reminds me of Pee Wee Herman's bicycle.

    "lockdown"

Very creative. I sure couldn't build anything like that. How's that back tire feel on one's back when there's no fender of back protection?

    Vintage Western Flyer

It's a keeper. You did a good thing, followed your gut instinct and now own a functional classic. Love the star cutouts in the pedal sprocket.

Maybe Pee Wee Herman can help me find my bike. He found his in the basement of the Alamo. lol Yes, there are bike clubs around. I am not familiar with them as the last bike I had for only a few months in 2012 was a green John Deere bike from 1972-74 that I fixed up and sold.

Thank you, wheelbender6. Help me find an old Spyder like mine and you'll move up higher on my Nice List. :P

I am jolly but would be more jolly if I can find my 1965 Spyder bike again.

    '66 (?) Sears Spyder 24 Coaster

Hi! This photo is most likely the Sears Spyder from 1965 just like my Dad bought for me in June 1965. See attached photos. I am looking for the same kind of bike again at age 66. It was a good bike that I was persuaded to sell when I got a little older.

SEEKING 1965 SEARS 24' SPYDER BIKE

I used to have a Sears Spyder bike with the 24-26" wheels I got in 1965. Dad bought it for me when I was 10 years old. It cost $36. I am looking to buy a bike just like I had shown in these June 1965 photos of me. Yes, when I was a little older, I was talked into selling it for $15 to a friend...

My Dad bought me a Sears Spyder bike in the summer of 1965 just like the one in the photo here. I think he paid $36 for it. I was 10 years old that summer. Wish I could find one and buy it as I was persuaded to sell it for $15 to a friend of grandmother's whose son wanted a bike. (sigh).
