We never or at least rarely called them Strandies or beach cruisers, but a combination of both. The local term is Strand Cruiser.

I was able to pick up this sweet frame and fork last week and then put it together with some parts I had on hand. An early ‘80 with original paint. Thanks for looking.

Rode this ’80 Schwinn Cruiser after going through it for a friend. It hadn’t been ridden in a long time but like most old USA steel, it rides great now after some TLC, a few new parts and fresh grease.

The rims look like the original S2’s. Someone had some blue spray at some point. Even the brake arm mount got hit with the blue. They will probably clean up to a decent chrome, albeit a lot of elbow grease would be involved. Really nice find, I have a 79 Spitfire as well and love riding it.

Really nice find. Bassett made quality everything in Orange County, CA. I used to sell their wet stack headers for ski and race boats back in the day, they were the best at the time.

Rode the ‘84 Schwinn I have been working on - new bars, stem, saddle, pedals, S2 rims and a set of Fat Franks. Fast and fun! Also a couple pics of how I found it.😩
