I love foldies! I have a yellow Dahon just like that one and I love it! Does yours have a drum brake? I haven't dated mine yet, I was guessing late 70's or so. That Japanese bike has got to be rare! Cool finds!
I have taken a couple of those roadmasters and made cool single speed cruisers out of them. Cheap projects. Nice find on the Wards. That frame will weld. No problem. Cool.
Man, if it feels good to ride like it is...just keep riding it and when the urge comes...you will figure out a cool build for it! I like it like it is. :D
Re: First Ride in 50+ years, A "Terrific" day
This is awesome! I love the photos and his smile! I hope at his age I can even stand, let alone ride a bike like I do now! Well done my friend!
That's a straight old girl there. If you take a small cup wire wheel for a drill to that wheel, it might clean up. I had one that was that bad before and the rust came off fairly nicely.
How ya goin' to fit those in your shed? Hey, cool old trikes there buddy! Let me know if you find any old mountain bikes out there. I'm in a buying mood!
I'm into foldies too! I have 2 Auto Minis from the 70's in my shed waiting on me to decide what to do with them. Shoot me a PM on what you're looking to get out of it or I have some other bike trade options too.
