    Re-chroming Bike Wheels

What the platers don't like about doing rims is when they polish them on the buffing wheel, it puts the worker in a dangerous position. Ever polish something and the buffer grabs the part and throws it? If that happens when doing a rim, it can pull your arms into the buffer. Not good. Same goes...

Might see if you can talk him into shipping it. Put it on a Greyhound bus, maybe.

    1977 Schwinn Scrambler

As a kid, there were a lot of "Scramblered" Stingrays running around. At the time I assumed all of them were home built as I didn't realize Schwinn was making them that way from the factory. Back then I didn't like them as I saw them as trying to be something they were not. Lately though, I find...

Does anyone know anything about this muscle bike?

As long as all you are doing is swapping one bolt on part for another, and you keep the original parts, I can't see how you would hurt the value. I just wouldn't repaint or do anything else that would be permanent.

    1977 Schwinn Scrambler

Nice job on the pad. I have to admit I was never a fan of the Stingray based BMX bikes. The last couple of years though, they have really grown on me. Would love to find one in a similar condition as yours.

Does anyone know anything about this muscle bike?

I have an Italian built Harley SS250 that has the levers mounted solidly to the bars like that. Must be an Italian thing?

    Huffy Slingshot 5

I drug my feet to long at a flea market and missed out on a Murray Eliminator 5 speed for $300. Bike was in really nice original shape. Looked at the bike when the gates first opened, went a few rows over, decided to get it, went back and it was gone. Still kicking myself.

    Shimano Brakes???

This morning I drug home a 1970 AMF Renegade 3 speed from an estate sale. The brake calipers are chromed steel and only marked with a little fish and JAPAN. Are these Shimano? and if so, what model are they?

    older SA 3 speed

Everyone should rebuild one at least once. You'll never look at one the same way again. An amazing little piece of engineering.

    Pathetic parts gathering

This morning I went to a small local flea market and found what I now know is an MX60 BMX front mag wheel. It has 4 layers of peeling paint on it with the original orange paint underneath. What am I gonna do with one orange BMX mag?

    That moment when you realize...

Or when you get your parts back from the plater and not everything you dropped off is there when you pick them up.

    This is kind of cool!

Wonder if that price will bring more of them out of the woodwork?

    This is kind of cool!

The days of $400 NIB Swing Bikes are over! I'm gonna guess $1500.
