    What year is this Hiawatha?

I recently built this cool Hiawatha for a friend of mine but I wanted to be able to give her the correct age of the bike when i present it to her. I'm having a little trouble reading all of the numbers on the rear dropout, but it looks like the last several are 08 . 1 61818 Does anyone have any...

    Drum Brake question....

I scored a really nice 24" rear five speed wheel / drum brake setup on ebay recently. The trouble is, when it arrived, the actuator arm was missing on the drum brake even though it was clearly shown in the photographs. I've contacted the seller who doesn't know what could have happened to it...

    HiggiCanti.....on the road again.

Here's a new one for me. It's a lugged cantilever frame J.C. Higgins. The wheels are 26 X 1 3/8, three piece cranks and a Higgins three speed hub. I'm not sure how much of the rest is original. Maybe you know?

    Pair -o- Higgins!

I've scored two cool JC higgins bikes in the last couple weeks. The first one is a skiptooth that looks pretty much original. Rear facing drop outs without the adjuster screws and nice truss rods The second one came from Tucson. It looks to be either a Jet Flow or maybe a JC 100. Someone...

    Reclaiming the endangered fleet.......

Hey guys (gals), I'm about to lose my "free" storage for ten vintage cruisers currently residing at my aunts house in Indiana. I'm in Arizona! I don't know how to get ten bikes out here, or into another storage, without breaking the bank. I bought some really cool stuff that I'd like to keep...

    Hiawatha frame size

Hey Guys, I recently bought a really cool Hiawatha straight bar frame from a guy I know locally. He sold it to me as a 24" frame. It had a crusty 24" wheel on the rear and a crankset with 5 1/2 arms on it. I got it to my house and started to size up a few of my 24" parts and nothing seemed to...

    Mystery bikes...

I've picked up a couple new bikes recently but I don't have any info on either of them. The red runabout is an Evergreen Cycle product with a drum brake in the rear and cool raised flowered pattern on the tires. It even has impressions in the handlebars for reflectors and a drop down kickstand...

    .......better late than never.....?

It occured to me that I may have somehow neglected to post my intro, so I thought I could either look through the 18 pages of intros or I could post it and risk the duplication. I'm currently living in Chandler Az. and although I've only had the "addiction" for a year or so, I've already...

    sweet cruiser 5

I'm a little late posting my "recent" find but here is a really nice cruiser 5 that I picked up from slickrick a short while ago. He had added the shorty fenders Yeti grips and Kruiser King seat along with the silver paint. It's got many original parts including the rear drum brake. I had a...

    Drive rivets

Ok. X53 fans... I've got two nice frames that are distinctly different. One has the large rectangular headbadge that has Western in large letters and assorted other stuff in smaller letters. The other has small brass headbadge that pretty much just has Western Flyer painted on it. The frame...
