Help with ID of a turn of the century(?) bike & 2 Schwinns

I started this thread over on Bike Forums which answered some questions, but left wondering about even more. http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php/919565-Requesting-assistance-in-identifying-an-antique-bike-and-info-on-a-Schwinn-Superior

Help with ID of a turn of the century(?) bike & 2 Schwinns

Thanks cman! I signed up for the Schwinn Bike Forum site on Saturday, but still haven't received a message that my account has been activated. Hopefully, they'll confirm me soon. Any ideas what the black women's bike is, or where to find info about these really old bikes? Pete

Help with ID of a turn of the century(?) bike & 2 Schwinns

Hi Everyone, been a while since I've posted on here but I picked up some bikes this weekend, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what one is. The head badge is gone, but it still wears original paint. It has wooden wheels, a skip-tooth chain, and a New Departure hub (type-A I was told). The...

    What is this Schwinn?

Looks like I answered my own question, :P I appears to be a '63 Mark V Jaguar according to this: http://www.schwinnbikeforum.com/SLDB/Dealer/1963/63dlct12.htm

    What is this Schwinn?

I just double-checked, the 6th digit was hiding under the rack strut. The serial number is M353796, so that looks like 12/17/63 for a build date according to http://www.angelfire.com/rant/allday101/SchwinnCodes3.html?

    What is this Schwinn?

I picked this up the other day & just finally had a chance to look at it, but I'm not exactly sure what I have. The serial number is on the left rear dropout and dates as an August 1954 build. It has a 2-speed automatic Bendix rear hub. I'm not sure if the springer is original, or just really...

Traded for two cool bikes and met a member!

Thanks Joe & great meeting you too! Honestly, I feel like I got the better end of the deal. I picked up a 24" Hawthorne that's pretty much finished, and a sweet old Hercules 26" that's also in good riding condition. He even gave me an early-90's Haro BMX bike for driving 200mi round-trip to do...

    Latest build, the Dyna-Trike

Thanks!!! I don't think Randy had ever seen a rat-rod bike, but his son has a sweet chopped 50's International flatbed, and Randy has always been into cars.

    Latest build, the Dyna-Trike

I built this one at the request of a local guy, and friend of mine named Randy. I've known him since the early-90's when we worked together - me a punk kid fresh out of college, and Randy just returning to work after having a brain tumor the size of a grapefruit removed from behind his right...

    post trike pictures

Just finishing up this one. Still have a few details, and I just picked up an old TNT crate to put on the back, then I'll get some "real" pics.

How many bikes do you own?

I guess it depends on how you define "own". I have 16 that are pretty much complete, though a couple are definitely parts-bikes. I have 3-newish bikes that get ridden pretty regularly, 6 or so that I've gotten with the sole intention of selling(eventually :P ), one that I've owned for...

Picked up this Western Flyer, what chain guard is this?

Oh wow! Yes, it is a 24", but I had no idea it could be that old. I was guessing mid-50's! lol

Picked up this Western Flyer, what chain guard is this?

Picked this up, poor thing had been someone's garden-art. It looks like they used double-sided tape to hold flowers or something on it??? Anyway, I rescued it. It's got a really cool chain guard, but unfortunately it looks like part is missing. Any idea what it is, or what it...

Help ID these hub internals please

First of all, a huge thanks to cashman for hooking me up with the Perry shell!!!! I got everything cleaned up, re-greased and assembled last night. Thought I'd post a pic of all the guts disassembled, as well.

Help ID these hub internals please

Wow, yes that Perry Two-Star is it! Thanks!!!! Don't suppose anyone has a spare shell available??? lol

Help ID these hub internals please

I picked this up at a sale the other weekend. It appears to be just a coaster hub, but there are no markings on the cog or the arm, and unfortunately there was no shell. It's made different than the typical Bendix style that I'm used to though. Do any of you know what this is?

    3rd build - the Murex

Well, I took the advice from Buck & added a finishing touch to it last night. I also swapped out the pedals for some normal ones.

    3rd build - the Murex

Thanks! It's actually not too bad to get started, except on really steep hills - but if you're moving pretty fast first, you can make it right up them! I picked up for cast metal eagles that were old trophy tops. If the stem had a normal vertical front clamp bolt I would use one of those on...

    3rd build - the Murex

This isn't a build I intended to do, but it just sort of happened. Unfortunately, I really didn't take any in-progress pics, but I do have a before & after. Last weekend was the big Labor Day street flea-market in our small town, and there were also yard sales all around. I found two Schwinn...
