So a guy that posts up on an auction site now and then with parts and frames to which I sometimes win is now swaping hobbies as he puts it so he is keeping his masi bike and one other and getting rid of the rest of his stuff starting at $50 so bidding started between me and someone a little ways out of town, well I really didn't want to let it go and I had a stash of $120 so needless to say I came in under budget yeessss so I got a beautiful steel frame with alloy fork, a GT carbon/alloy road bike that's seen better days but I can redo with a clean and new headset, also got a pair of campag wheels with decent tyres, a set of wheels with Alex rims and 105 hubs, as new seat, single speed chain, 105 derailleur set, 105 brake calipers, 105 crank and verious other parts, the favourite item is definitely the steel frame the lugs are real nice and has holes for internal cable along under the top tube

WIKKEDD SCORE!! The lugged frame and steel fork are beautiful
Yer I will have to do some research on it, I think the front may have been painted and then sanded back to chrome at some stage but never got treated or repainted as its rusted so may take it to a paint sprayer for some advice as if I do decide to paint half of it I would get it done professionally as it deserves to be done right, the fork I don't think is original to the frame as the top of the thread tube has previously been cut at an angle, hopefully I can get my old headset pieces on it that I use as a cutting guide

What a haul
thankyou, sometimes timing is everything, I rarely have stash cash to spend but when you hold on to hard to get hotwheels super treasure hunt cars and sell when no one can get a particular car and like recently sold one starting at $1 reserve (I let the market dictate the value) eventually sold for $141 (yes I know, crazy right ?) well $20 gas in the tank and the rest for the bike score

If those are NZ dollars, the score is even more impressive!
yes sir NZ dollars, like I've mentioned before I live at the top of the north island which is slim pickings and prices are high for bike stuff on the auction site I use where as down the line around the bottom of the north and in the south island prices are cheap especially around the university towns but freight all but kills the deal like classic BSA bikes selling for as little as a $1 but at $150 freight its out of reach but its the adventure and the stories at the end of the day that makes the bike life worth living

quick research and the steel frame has lugs similar to raleigh lugs on a 1980s professional but mine has a side cutout on the top head tube lug where as the raleighs don't,in coming days I will take proper pics and look for markings to help identify this frame
