Doesn't look like it, but did you clear coat the painted parts? Where does the gloss come from, WD-40...????

That's "boiled linseed oil" over the paint. Once applied it give it a wet glossy look even after it dries!

It is certainly a rat according to me! and a nice one to, i will say more, like you done it, is my style too, if its still original, let it that way. other junkyard bikes enough to cut in. Love you're work man. for sure!

***i always clean up the red rust, under there is the black and old rust. finish with clearcoat.***
 
This is my favorite unmolested bike in the buildoff. If there were no customization allowed, this would have won easily IMO.
