So I have built and customized a lot of bikes. Every now and again, my wife will ask me, when am I going to build HER a cruiser. She has her 1969 Schwinn Collegiate (which she loves), but it's not quite the lead sled bombers I cruise around on. Well, I had been trying to find the perfect bike for her that had a bit of uniqueness and a splash of rarity. I had found 2 particular bikes and tried to acquire them on different occasions, but both times, the seller pulled out of the deal...sigh.

Then last month, I found her. A 1957 J.C. Higgins with a one year only headlight, well, half of a headlight anyway.

The ebay gods were kind... I found the original seat, and the seller took my best offer.

Then the bicycle gods smiled down upon me saying, "throw the kid a bone" and a friend blessed me with not just the top, but a complete headlight :heart::heart::heart:

Very nice! I have a Lady Higgy that I believe is a little older than yours, but sadly my headlight is missing altogether.
The PO put a reflector in one of the holes.

Here's how it should/will look (minus the baby seat).

I have the 1956 boys version of this bike, headlight is a one year only item, I believe. And yep, I got one ( in the process of being restored). Still need to paint the tank/chainguard and do the graphics

Here’s how far I’ve resto-modded mine.
