Responded to a FBM ad today and went to pick this up. I know girls' bikes are not the draw that boys' bikes are, but I'm a sucker for '60s Ross graphics and this one looks like it's gonna clean up really well. Besides, it's the perfect companion to my '67 boys' Polobike.

The guy had also advertised a Free Spirit girls' bike, which I had no interest in... till he offered to throw it in for free. They had just bought the house, they found these in the attic, he had no interest in them, and I guess he was tired of looking at them. (They had been advertised for over a week.) It's a good thing I took it, too, because on closer inspection, the correct rear wheel for the Ross had been swapped to the Sears. Additionally, the front tire on the Sears is a Carlisle Zephyr Flite that matches the Carlisle slick currently on the back of the Ross.

In addition to all this, I have a flowered seat off another Ross girls' bike from my adventures with Ross stuff this spring. Thinking I will clean up and build up the Ross as a companion to the orange one, then get the Free Spirit put together to hopefully give to some little girl who'd appreciate it.

Spent an hour or so tinkering. Had to sort out the rear hub... the bearings were loose, but it seems to be working well now. May be a hub rebuild in the not-too-distant future. Looks so much better with the bars where they belong. Not a great background for this pic, but it's the only dry place I could find today.

Picked at a few spots on the chrome, looks like it's gonna clean up nice.
