I’ve had this kicking around for a while and wondered what it could have been a replacement for, as I don’t see copper tone available for 70. Looks like it’s never had a wheel in the dropouts.
I don’t plan to keep it as I have so many other projects.

Very strange I can not find a racer in coppertone in 1970. Maybe it is not a racer. Also the fork bearing race you show is pre '65 that is the old style with 2 different bearings the one on top is smaller. I will keep looking when I get a chance later. Maybe replacement frames were offered in that color.

July 1970. I thought 68 was the last year for coppertone, but someone here had a 69 Schwinn in coppertone, although the catalogs don't show that color after 68. Maybe the factory still had coppertone paint in 1970 and someone ordered a replacement for an older frame that broke.
To narrow down what model it was will be tough. Is it for 26" or 27" wheels? It could be any of their diamond frame bikes that came in the small size, 17" from the looks of it.
I rode a varsity the same size when I lived in San Diego. Z rims and fat tires. I put in many miles on the Silver Strand. So I would keep it and make a klunker out of it. But to sell, I'd go to the Schwinn lovers webpage. An unused Chicago made 1970 coppertone frame should be worth some bucks.
