What type are you after?

Most modern 26" BMX seem to run similar rims to modern MTB's, double wall, possibly domed centre, not overly wide...
Of course there is the vintage styled Araya 7X for the more retro minded too...

Luke.

Thanks luke
I am looking for araya 7x with a high flanged front hub and coaster brake rear for my adult thunder road build I think I may have to have them custom built with original thunder road hubs

I think custom build may be your only way, I have seen the rims themselves on eBay occasionally, either genuine Araya 7X, the pretty good Weinmann version or the no name lookalikes at various times...

These are the 26" rims I use on all my vintage mtb frame builds, including clunkers, 26" cruisers and bmx builds. Ive found around 6 useable pair on scrapped bikes, (early to mid ninties mid lvl mtbs) and sometimes they have nice hubs, mostly 5 speed freewheel. They are not x7, but i assume a higher production, lower quality (single wall) how do i tell the model? This pair was ridden yesterday, and this bike lives outside, so i offer no appologies for the dirt and grime in the pic. This set has that cool grey high flange hub too.

Geniune Bicycle Products has some hoops. They may be blemished, but you could build your own. http://www.genuinebicycleproducts.com/parts.html (scroll all the way to the bottom)

Below are Coaster Brake options.
Edit-
I should not of forgot about these....http://ratrodbikes.storenvy.com/col...1452063-3g-venice-26-x-26mm-coaster-wheel-set

Or Bicycle Wheel Warehouse has some options for coasterbrake wheelsets. Choice of Shimano, 2 speed kickback, Nexus 3 or KT. http://www.bicyclewheelwarehouse.com/Cruising/

I have been swapping out the five Speed gears off my 26" mtb rims with a single speed freestyle off of bent bmx rims. At least one set of araya's like pictured above. Unless you have your heart set on coaster breaks.

The rims offered by GBP are regular Weinmann AS7X rims, ano'd in small batches in Cali. If you want ano, get'm. If you're good with silver, plain-jane AS7X sell for about $17 brand new. I been running some WeinmannAS7X rims laced with 12g spokes to Shimano cb-e110 rears and generic fronts. Cost >$100 in silver, and like $105 in black, from Niagara. For future projects, I think I could build'm cheaper than that and have better front hub options....

AS7X have the raised center and basic dimensions as the old Araya 7x rims, but with plain, undimpled spoke holes. They're as good as any other modern single-wall rim i've used, but double-walled rims are just so much more robust....
