I have been building bicycles since i was 6. Now 30 years later, it is still fun! So this is my first build off!
I am an illustrator by profession so this will be a lot like drawing. What happens.... happens! I might lean towards a more streamlined, tanker, board tracker?

3 weeks ago this bike was saved from an aluminum scrap pile here in Colorado by a guy that had no idea what it was.
He put in the antique section on craigslist. Under "old aluminum bike"
with no picture. I was on a bicycle spending spree. I saw it and thought old aluminum bike? It's worth a chance to check it out.
The next morning it was mine for next to nothing!

So here it is! the Silver King.

Welcome on the forum, and make sure to post an intro about yourself in the intro forum. We'd like to get to know you better.

Good luck and have fun building.

Great name. I think a COOL name counts for about 30 percent of the build.

wash your mouth out!

'purple anodize'...
Not so traditional. But I'll bet it'd look good though.
Or just 'anodize' some scallops in the front... 8)
(or color-clearcoat them ofcourse...)

I'm not sur what impresses me the most. My eyes keep wandering off to that little trike. Wouldn't it be TOTALLY AWESOME if you somehow could duplicate those fivespoke trikewheels for that big boy frame?

Geeze - what a great find - congratulations!
You can't miss with this as your starting point! 8)

Re: the Aluminati.. *SilVeR KinG*

i forget how long it takes to clean-up and polish aluminum! i am probably going to have to start with 400 grit to 800 then 1000 and then 1200 to 1500 and then 2000? then hit it with the wheel n compound.... this is like polishing a black paintjob. 3 times over! it is fighting me all the way. this bike has been crashed a time or 200? maybe i should rename it "the Aluminaughty"?
