My wife has been telling me that her bike was a little too tall for her for a while now. I got her a 24 inch bike but she couldn't keep up with everyone else on the 26's. So I happen to come across this 80's Murray bike someone put out with their trash. I chopped the frame into three parts, and took out three inches of height, and two inches of length from of it. I welded everything together and gave it a bamboo painjob. She wanted something with bamboo on it to give it an Asian feel, I might have gone a bit overboard but she loves it! This is still a work in progress but I figured I'd post what I have so far. I should've taken before pix to show how rough this frame was, but I was'nt planning this build at all, just figured I could salvage a few parts from the thing and that's it. Since the whole thing is squatted down, I added a laidback post from SLOWRIDERZ so she would still have the length needed for the pedals. She now can ride her bike and safely put her feet on the ground at stops. Still a few things to get it "right" but so far it's just what she's been wanting!

So here is Bamboozle complete with a three speed that's too short, like my wife. So I'll be adding an extension to it here shortly. No pun intended.

The addition of some vinyl lettering makes it official.

I had different handle bars on it but she wanted something taller. Again, no pun. So I threw on these bars I welded together to give her a more upright position.[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/9...kr.com/5338/8857503742_360945446e_b.jpg[/img]

Great take on a bamboo theme....bike looks super-cool!

Thank you much folks! I like to see her ride and if I have to build her a hundred bikes I will, but I think this one's gonna stick. It helps when she's involved in the proccess too.
