Re: Black Coffee & Cream (7/11 update - new donor, paint)

so now i have another donor bike.
i had posted this in fresh finds.
looked as though the frame was bent.
upon closer inspection, its actually broken at the connections to the bb shell and seat tube.
shame, the paint is so nice. i am going to make some sort of artwork out of it later.

i am using the fork/struts, cranks (had been looking for a nice dogleg) and bars from this girl.
the wheels are amazing too and perfectly straight with no rust at all. another project....

some paint on the fork, struts and chainguard...

i may do the frame tomorrow. if not, probly not for 2 weeks. (down to the wire)

Re: Black Coffee & Cream (7/11 update - new donor, paint)

Lookin Sharp Adam!

I just realized we both have a straightbar/creamtires/dropbars look going on... but while you're having the black coffee with cream, I am having the strawberries and cream, or something like that. :)

Re: Black Coffee & Cream (7/11 update - new donor, paint)

so its been a while without an update.
i just want everyone to know that i am 95% sure i will finish in time.
i painted the frame finally.

Dude...

Yeah.

It's that 5% that scares me though. I'd better run out to the garage now...

Your bike is looking great btw.

i just need a chain, to put the chainguard on, and to try and knock out the tank.

BARS DOWN FO SHO!

Re: Black Coffee & Cream (7/23 bars up or down???)

I would say bars down, just not with this bar. just the curvature of this bar your running looks better to my eye going up. if you had a bar that swept forward a bit before coming back, I think it would look amazing bars down. maybe the camera angle isn't doing it justice? I know I had trouble with that when I flipped mine. fool with the angle it's clamped at too, I notice on my bike it made a huge difference in the visual appeal to have a slight down slope to the dropped section, if you go that way. Like deoreman says, "let the ride decide!"

Re: Black Coffee & Cream (7/23 bars up or down???)

do which ever you want but f you keep them flipped bob them about 1"-1 1/2" and angle them down some.....they dont flow to well longer and level
