Finally getting around to mounting the insert so I can mock up the position of the headers. The insert is mounted using two cable guide clamps on top and a larger support on the underneath side near the sprocket. I will be drilling the headers and where it attaches to the frame, and will be held together with 6-32 bolts and acorn nuts. I still need to cut the headers again to add a taper for a little style. Also looking for a couple plugs and wires for cheap. And the insert will get a repaint. Handle bars need stops drilled to keep the grips from spinning. Getting very close.

Getting my final photo figured out and using 1970’s Street Chopper/Hot Bike trading card layouts. I may turn all of my bikes in to a trading card like this. Maybe even be a sticker.

Watching the Marshall Fire Benefit concert and putting the final touches on the Blue Dream. Some acorn nuts added the the manifold area of the insert. Cut some angles in the exhaust pipe exits and just need to even them out. They are wired up for now, and will eventually be attached through the frame with 6-32 nuts and bolts. I could even permanently fix the pipes to the insert, but I plan on refining it and maybe a repaint in the future. I also bought an electrical box to turn in to a parachute housing in the future. My mom is an excellent upholsterer and all around sewer, and my dad use to build kites. She has left over kite material which she will make a 5 foot diameter parachute from. I’m excited for the next build off to break this one down for a repaint and all the extra touches I have planned. I got more accomplished than I thought I would. The donor bike came at a perfect time and price. I’m just going to stare at the results for a while. Tomorrow I’ll take it to work with me so I can get some shots outside of the apartment. Colorado weather has had me cooped up.

I had a heck of a time getting out of work in enough time to air up the tires on the Blue Dream and snap a couple photos. Finding a working air compressor was tough. But I made it in just enough time. I wish i could have taken better photos and went with my trading card idea. I am super happy with the results and look forward to tinkering with it some more.

My second build off and second 3-speed built. I think maybe a 5-speed needs to be added to my collection. My passion to build muscle bikes are due to not being able to bring myself to pay the prices for an OG muscle bike. Customizing Hot Wheels is another passion, after failing to find treasure hunt cars and refusing to pay the gross prices. Plus, Built Not Bought is something I strive for. Here is a couple shots of the two builds.

Picked up a metal electrical box that I will try to make a parachute housing from. Just winging it really. American Science Surply sometimes has small lead parachutes for sale but currently out of stock. This is going to be a slow moving process since I’m figuring as I go. I have a general idea. A seat mounted pull will deploy the chute. Let’s see what I can create. 58B21BCF-C5D7-46F1-A680-9B8109908693.jpeg
