Although I will have a lot of stuff on my plate this summer, I'll try and join in for the fun.
Last summer I bought this nice vintage NSU goose neck ladies frame: I was watching this beautie for a long time on the bay and finnally came out lucky.

The year before I scored this nice therapy trike:

and since several years I've got this 60ties baby stroller in my basement waiting for it's final purpose:

Last summer, there was no real opportunity to build something out out these parts, but I managed to take apart the therapy bike and did a mockup:

I got already a higher ape in the stash, but still am looking for a decent frontwheel (the one in the mockup is borrowed from my campground daily).

As I don't have the luxury of a shed or big enough basement I will (again) build on the campground, where all my tools an parts are stashed. So there won't be happening any big steps until the summer break (end of june). Also I will probably build a garden shed from scratch in summer. So please be patient....

Swiss Guy is in! Dig your campground builds, very much 'from the ground up' !

I agree with SD ^, this is looking good already.

RaT oN~!

Great to see you again. This year we already have a large group of international builders outside of the US. I really like the mix of parts you have so far and I'm especially intrigued on the baby buggy.

I like its looks just the way it sits. Great stance.
Yes, I really like the muscle vibe it gets... We have a long weekend coming up next week and I'll try another mockup...

Im very much looking forward spending some time on the campground on the long weekend next week and maybe do some wrenching....
I like the direction we're heading
Me too!
Yep nice old frame, and interesting stroller add on.
I tried/planned to use the stroller already three years ago but took a completly different road then...

Oh yes, I already read some french postings, saw a polish bike, @Funkme is in, ....
The buggy was sitting in the basement for far to long now. It will become the trunk of this trike. Colourwise I am thinking of making it match one of my first projects. The bike brand is the same (NSU), but we will see what the bike tells me to do...

I heard there might be Canadians too!

I love the buggy idea, gonna look really good, either as a trailer, or the trike trunk

Yes quite a few EU subjects are in this year, and many newbies. Some old n new!
Blue arrow was based on a frame like this,I loved the shape, but grabbed that from France, never found out what company mad it thou.

Tonight I dug through my basement in preparation of the trip to the campground for the long weekend and collected some bits and bites for the next mock-up.
The apehanger was purchased for this project, it shares the box with various small parts that might come in handy.

For now the wheel will be a placeholder. The rim might probably stay, but laced to another hub. Tyre will be a white wall.

If the original cranks are to long, the cranks and bottom bracket of the therapy bike (the same that donated the trike axle) will come in handy...

i have a male NSU frame i am thinking of building something with it.

While doing some spring cleaning on the campground I made two of these little critters homeless....

They are pretty industrious. I'm sure they will find another home soon!

A busy day is almost over. First I had to reorganize an clean the awning of our caravan. To much stuff and not enough space to move or sit (that's why the mice lost their cosy home). Then my kids got a friend visiting so we enjoyed some board game time indoors while it was raining and went to the playground and the ice cream store when the sun finally came out. Now the kids are in their bunk and I finally had some wrench time...
I slapped a new chain on, mounted the apehanger and the 28" front wheel and voilà, we have a roller....

Ground clearance of the pedals is close to zero, so shorter cranks are a must, especially on uneven ground like here on the campground...
But I already like where this is going!
The apes look good on it, but it really needs some optical "balance" for the rear end. Next time I'll probably try to mock up the buggy on the back...

I just did a simple sketch on my mobile. I'm not much of skilled finger painter, but I think you get where I'm aiming at...

I can see that buggy in there already! You will be the talk of the campground.

Today I worked a bit on the frontend. When mounting a break, the grips are a bit to long, so I just inserted an old cut off I had in my box. It's not final, but works for now.

The front light had already an appearance on the barrel banana (just check out my older builds in the signature).

So far I like how the front is looking:

Going through the boxes I found this nice chain cover:

You may have realized that I changed the pedals. The right one was completly shot and they didn't match, so they have to go. As this is becoming a trike, there will be no use for a kickstand, so it had to go as well, even if it put up a good fight and needed loads of 4WD and brute force...

IMG_20210515_131204576_1920x1080.jpg

Here are some other parts, that might find their way into this build. The cranks come also from the barrel banana...
IMG_20210515_131324073_1920x1080.jpg

So this is how far I will get this weekend. Now I will have to pry the kids away from the TV and get them outside... ;-)
