Found this at an antique shop today for $18 listed as "Garden decor". Has a serial number on the left dropout shown in the photo. Anyone know how to decide it as to about what year it is?

If you can work that master link loose on the chain, you can make your money back.
i can get you in the ball park. It’s somewhere in the 50’s. Prob mid to late 50’s.

It looks like Columbia by the frame and paint job, and serial number font size. N is 1950, but I think they already went to forward dropouts by then. My serial number list shows just an "N" at the end of 1945, not enough info.

It's a 1950. The stripped models of Columbias had these fat rear facing dropouts.

I've read on thecabe that the sears catalog ('47… I think) states that only deluxe models have front facing dropouts, standard and below have rear facing...

Goodyear would have spec'd their models as well.

Note that your frame is setup for a bolt on kickstand, skiptooth, and no provisions for a chain guard. I think that makes it Goodyear's version of the 'low priced adult model' in the ad above.

Great find, great deal. That crank and chainring is great. The tooth count on girl's bikes makes for easier pedaling.

Thanks for the info guys. It's good to be back for a bit. Hopefully I can think of something cool to do with it.... Maybe some 24x3s... Maybe some lowrider 100 spoke wheels... Gonna give it a linseed oil bath just to help protect it and make the colors pop.

Yep after closer inspection the fork is bent. Going to try my hand at bending it back straight.
