Felt Chief owners, or any felt bike owner

I wanted to give you guys a heads up on what can happen to our Felt bikes if they are kept in the sun too long:

I have seen some fading happen to other bike, but this is extreme. I also purchased a used Felt Claire a while back that was supposed to be orange, but faded to yellow.

I know this isn't going to be ratty, but i'm going to put a top coat of clear on them to preserve the cheap paint. :roll:

Has anyone seen any of the other brands do this, this bad?

haha. wow that's pink. I woulda bought that and sold it as a "custom paint limited edition".

mine have been fine, but they're stored indoors.

I like how he said his wife rode it. :lol: I really would not expect a maroon color to fade to pink like that, it just seems a little unnatural. Right now mine is more likely to get dusty than fade. I did take it out of the stand and ride it around the block last night.

Look at the rims, the section that sat closest to the ground has faded to pink as well, whereas the portion of the rim that sat upside down is still red.
That's amazing.

I'd buy it and sandblast the whole thing and clear coat it.

Yikes! That's worse than 1980s red Toyotas and Nissans you'd always see faded.-Adam
