Last October I picked this bike up. Roughly 2014ish Felt.
These were made for a housing project in Orange County Ca. Buy a house, get a free bike. (Felt stopped producing cruiser bikes in 2016) These were some of the last cruiser’s made.
I live in OC as well so I kept seeing these on the internet. The frame interested me.
There is a step thru version as well but that will be another story.
After shaking down the inventory and swapping out some different parts, I came up with this.
it’s still a Nexus 3 speed as it was originally.
The 44/ 22 sprocket combination works perfectly just like the old Schwinns. She rides like a dream.

Just picked up another one!
the elusive Black Great Park Special edition.
only elusive because I haven’t seen one until now.
When you can find these Great Park bikes for roughly $300.00 and down.
The step thru shows up more often and are usually mint for $200.00 and down.
shooting fish in a barrel.
I build my own wheels so I will powder coat these orange wheels To match future projects.
so much orange.
Im gonna do a felt build on one on these in a week or two as soon as I get it together. I’m gonna dig out the true beauty of this frame.

For what you pay for a house in Orange County, CA, you should get a good bike with it. Still a nice surprise.

Nice find just an FYI, they made 4 Great Park models:
1-black male
2-orange male
3-orange hybrid male/female (top tube bends down but then meets seat stays at seat tube
4-female/step through

Interesting! I’m just getting into these Felt Cruiser bikes so would be great to known how you find out this type of info; models made and in what year etc. I think that I’m going to become a collector but I haven’t mentioned this to my wife as yet…..!😱

I’ve already collected 3; a ‘Yellow New York Taxi bike’, a ‘130 Little .......’ and a ‘Bandit’. Love them all…..and looking for more in tip top condition. Mind you, I live in the UK so I suspect it will be much harder to find some fabulous examples over here than if in the Great USA!

Anyway, always so lovely to see other models as this broadens my horizons. I Really appreciate you dropping a line. Cheers!

Awesome information, I’m still learning myself. Soooo…

This is my hybrid, (thanks Irontri) Felt Great Park #2076. I paid $100.00. This bike is mint. I saw something in this frame besides the great wheels. Still to much orange but what a base for my January build!
I still have 24 hours, I’ll be right back

Ok, I’m done,
I disassembled the bike and had it powder coated satin black.
I replaced the front end with a working triple tree with 3 inches of travel. The front end was only $40.00 on Amazon so I bought 5.
So, new seat, peddles, grips tires and bars.
I put the Felt badge back on and put my ....... Bicycle stamp of approval on the chain guard.

Now for the good part,
These wheels are awesome, aluminum rims, SS spokes and my favorite, the Shimano Nexus 3 speed coaster brake! Smooth simplicity.
That’s about it, and I have to say that this bike rides great, shifts perfectly and flys!
Building and repairing my own wheels is a huge cost savings so total investment $420.00
my favorite number!

I know its been some time but did the bikes come with the nice 50mm wide rim.

Really like the way you changed it up

Sadly they didn’t. They came with 38mm hoops.
Wow that’s disappointing, I was ready to pick up a mans and women’s tomorrow morning, was going to offer 225 for each bike, wanted the rims since they are impossible to find now.

What are todays options for 50mm or slightly larger?

G-day ron, mate Im lovin that black "great Park" with its awesome sized tray! Ive seen a lot of electric felt cruisers as of late, very nice retro looking bikes

Options are finding aftermarket Felt hoops or wheels or having someone custom build you any size width available. Ron, the OP, should be able to help you with the 1st option. I can help you with both options but will let Ron chime in as it’s his thread.

My kid found some felt hoops at the LB swap today, rims only for $50. Beat up but will get them powder coated.
