Hi RRB gang- I had the opportunity to volunteer last weekend at an organization called "Free Bikes 4 Kidz". It's a non-profit that takes in literally thousands of used bikes, cleans up and tunes up the bikes and redistributes them to kids that don't have bikes. They're always looking for volunteers, especially talented mechanics, and I thought this was right in RRB's wheelhouse (they're based in the US, so for the US folks, I guess). I was at the warehouse in MN, and they told me they had about 10,000 bikes that needed to be worked on. They have a limited budget, so the goal is to make the bikes safe for a kid to ride. There's also a good deal of scavenging parts and making bikes rideable again. If you have the time and inclination, I'd highly recommend it.
