Picked up this 1998ish Giant Warp for cheap on market place, guy just wanted it gone.

Put it up on the stand and fixed a stack of issues, chucked on some new tyres and tubes, cables etc. Swapped the yellow forks for a silver set from the parts stock.

All functioning as it should, it was time for a test ride

I decided to try it full rigid next, and installed a Landing Gear fork, Kore stem to stretch out the cockpit and a riser bar.

Next up, a pair of DMR 26x2.4s to add some girth.

I did try a shorter stem, but it made the bike too small to be comfortable. So back to the longer Kore stem.

Considering a single speed conversion for it next.

I like the bars, look comfortable while maintaining performance. Single speed would be a great idea, further thumbing your nose at the"latest and greatest" MTB crowd. I'm behind you on this one. It'll make a solid cruiser.

Yup liking this build, if I was just using it to cruise on I would go with a simple 6 or 7 speed and single ring up front so you can have some fun just cruising or if you want to have a bit of speed, ss would be cool too

Cool. I have not seen a hard tail Warp until now.
I remember the Warp single pivot models that were considered to be the least expensive downhill bike, at the time.
