I made arrangements to drive 100 miles to go get it this morning. When I got there, this had happened:

The previous owner just couldn't lay off of the yard art urge, and treated my original paint curved post elgin to a quickie spray bomb paint job, free of charge. You have to laugh.

Congratulations. One of my favorite frame designs.

Not the greatest finds, but hard to lay off a cheap source for bike parts.
Got this Columbia about a month ago. Already used the chain on another bike. Still have a sweet set of mini apes and chrome stem. The 52T sprocket and crank is on my BO17 bike.

Bought this today:
Schwinn Exerciser. Bars are a little weird but I've used them before. Plus both bikes have pedals with straight shafts. And when all of the good parts are gone, you can cut them up for your other bike projects.

The mega heavy duty seat post is going on my Spaceliner BO17 project.

65T sprocket and lots of chain.

I believe there is a super clean 28 hole 20" rim under that wheel cover.

Mate that Schwinn is loaded with good parts. Messinger saddle, speedo, forged stem. great buy.

I answered a marketplace ad for this Worksman. I've had several, but this one looks a bit earlier than the rest.

This one has the knockout front hub.

BMXish stem. Not sure if this fork is original or not. Looks Schwinny.

I haven't seen this integral seat post clamp before today.

This is the first Bendix 76 that I've seen with this type of shell.

The seller also had a few frames that got thrown in on the deal. This turned out to be a 1948 with part of a locking springer.

And a set of S2 rims with a New Departure shell and a Fore brake missing most of its parts.

Finally, I brought home this nameless road bike frame thrown in on the deal.

I am just learning about Worksman bikes and about an hours drive away, someone has a single speed for sale: asking $60 but that seems a little high. Any comments?

It looks pretty crusty. Needs just about everything, but you would be hard pressed to find a Worksman frame/fork for 60 bucks. Maybe you can talk the seller down. I plan on rebuilding my wheels, but they are super heavy. New wheels could knock quite a bit of weight off of the bike. I'm sure you can find a donor bike for most parts you need. I guess it just depends on what you want to do with it. The one I just bought was more money, luckily the seller sweetened the deal.

If you haven't, check out the "Show us your Worksman Bicycles" thread:

FYI, I've been using Husky Bicycles as a source of cheap parts.

Back again with a Wartime? Huffman "Yard Art" save.

Original front wheel MIA. I believe I have a rim that matches the profile of the rear.

I was on the fence about entering the buildoff. Now maybe I'll give it a go?
