Here's an option too. I make these by hand in my shop. http://www.ghentcruisers.com/our-parts/drop-seat-post

This may be a horrible question. I am a newb, so bear with me.

Couldn't you just take the existing post and bend it??

Fellow member Marty @ 10~18 Kustoms makes them any length & any angle out of solid stock. Super strong & reasonably priced.

I have also seen one made from half a crankset that had a really cool look to it & super strong. Just my .02 worth.

You can buy bmx lay back posts.
I used to have one of those but they have a welded strut in them most of the time...gonna have to cut that off to get it the seat to lay low...

Thread rivival
use a bmx handle bars and cut them to make laid back seat post out of it , "not any handlebar" bmx ones are made stronger , any other regular bars will bend

Can you show me what you're talking about?

Chop out the curved part. I've tried this before with all kinds of bars including older heavy BMX ones but ultimately had to fill the tube with sand and cap the ends with weld to keep it from bending. You could always add a brace as well
