I am feeling dumb today and can't remember what these are called

So I am having a brain fart and struggling to remember what these rods on the front of the fork are called.

I have an idea for a build I want to do one day. I am assuming they come in different lengths?

Yeah, different lengths for different size forks, 20, 24, 26, etc. Does anyone make em for the big ones? Black Sheep made em for 36ers!

What is the benefit of these? Is it just aesthetic, or is there a mechanical or geometry gain?

The hollow faux ones I made were purely aesthetic. Maybe the original solid bars were somewhat functional. I suspicion they were mostly emulating the motorbikes of their day. However, I noticed many GI military bikes had truss rods.
