The seat is made by Lobdell-Emory; from about 1937 to 1940 I think. You see them mostly on Shelby Airflos. Some people call them "torpedo" because of the horizontal spring configuration. They are rare and expensive. If you ever see one, in any condition, rescue it!
 
In my oppinion it's not worth all the work and head aches. if you're interested I have a nice mid 70's womens Free Spirit 3 speed I'd trade you even up. The Free Spirit is ready to ride, not a pile of parts like you're stuck with. Let me know when you want to make the trade :lol:

Thanks for the info. I will definitely be on the lookout. You really scored a home run on this one... that frame rocks. The seat stood out as i have never seen one.

Depending there are a few different tanks that go on those wishbone frames. There is the shelby airflow, another with the extended tank that I can't remember the name of (edit: Hiawatha arrow), and one with a traditional tank known as a no nose.

Slick would be able to give you a ton of info on them since he has both styles of extended tank bikes. Both complete down to Lobdell seats.

If that Tomohawk stem is original, it's a rare find also.
