A friend of mine sent me these pics of his buddys "original" stingray.
To me it looks like a re pop.

These are the only pics I have.

With those pics, I can say it is either original or the '99 reproduction. It has smoothed headtube connections and the stepped tubes behind the BB. None of the other reproductions have these features.

I'd guess reproduction just based on how nice it looks...the serial will till the story. I don't see any knurling on the wheels, but that could just be the resolution of the pics.

I thought the tubes all look a bit bigger than they should be, that's why I wasn't sure.
