Named for "Little Boy", the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.

Here's the original bike. Can you believe I actually just stepped out my door and it was lying in the grass? I went around the neighborhood asking if anyone had lost it or had their bike stolen and even posted it on our neighborhood watch's Facebook page. No one claimed it after many, many weeks and, well, I found myself with a bike for free. We're guessing it was stolen from another part of the city and used for drug deals (a common thing in Flint, MI, sadly), then was dropped off when the thief was done with it. But, I DID try to find the owner to no avail.

I did relatively little to the bike. I chopped and lowered the seat, chopped the handlebars, added new grips and gave it a new paint job (using simple, cheap spray paint). Here I'm sanding off the old paint.

Another shot of the original paint being stripped.

Here it is with the primer. I couldn't for the life of me pry off the pedals so I just taped everything up and sprayed!

After the primer I added flat black and a couple pale yellow highlights.

An early shot of the bike before adding the old Budweiser can which is now a headlight. You can also see the handlebars and how I chopped them, converting them from ape hangers to swept back bars.

The bike on display at an annual rockabilly event I host for a local charity.
