Born, raised and living in it! Far from being perfect due to our politicians' neglect, corruption and socioeconomic decline I still wouldn't trade it for the world! I just think of it as a sweet ratrod with beautiful patina, rough and full of character! ;-)

Here are some photos from last Sunday and Monday's cloudy morning rides. Hope you enjoy them.

Day 1: Sunday

Off to Roxas Boulevard at 5:30am. With my god daughter and wife at the back.

Entering the walled city of Intramuros. That's the watch tower of city hall who's skyline is slowly being ruined by high-rise condos :p

Til next time ;-)

Your pics brought back some memories of Manila! I went there in 1975 with my Dad for the 30th anniversary of the Liberation of the Philippines. Dad was there in 1945. I have a pic of him standing next to the Government Building ruins in 1945 and me standing close the same spot in 1975. While there, we also went to San Fernando and Nasugbu and Bilibid Prison.

That's awesome! 1975?!..you were lucky to have seen Manila in it's heyday, also you got to tour the Northern and Southern parts of Luzon. I was born in that era so I only have little memory of it, from what I remember it was more spacious and much cleaner. I guess we weren't prepared for urban development and the population explosion. It's funny that you mentioned about bringing back old memories because these days I find myself looking at old photos of Manila from the 1800's-1980's. If you're interested here's a gentleman with an amazing collection of old photos https://www.flickr.com/photos/johntewell/

Cheers! :)

That is a great picture collection link.

The gentleman's photos were neat! I know a lot has changed there since the 1970's. The things I remember most were the stories of history told by older Filipino and Americans, riding around Manila in a jeepney and watching the sun set at Lingayen Gulf! Thanks!!!
